The Rich Life Podcast
My work on the Rich Life podcast has widely grown and evolved since I started. When I began working with Scaled Up, I was writing shownotes and LinkedIn copy for the host to promo each episode as they went out. It wasn't long until I was writing the episode titles as well. More recently, I started working on a blog post for the Wealthquest website to coincides with each episode. The idea behind this content is to have a part of the podcast with the focus being SEO.
The idea was presented that the podcast shownotes start being written for SEO, but that would require them to be incredibly lengthy as far as podcast notes go. I suggested an alternative route.
By using SEO in a blog post, you're creating an additional, clickable page that can cross-reference the podcast itself, generating more traction overall. I write the blog posts using a transcript I take of each episode by condensing, rewording, and reorganizing the content in a way that works for its intended purpose.
I'm able to highlight the most memorable content from the episodes in this way targeting them for different channels. Certain parts stick out to me for different purposes. Some things you just know are meant to be the opening line of a LinkedIn post.
Wealthquest - Advisor and Company Content
There are a handful of top advisors at Wealthquest that Scaled Up uses for content creation. They bring me videos, sometimes blog posts they've made, regarding a particular financial topic, and I write copy to accompany the posts for both LinkedIn and Facebook.
Each advisor has a unique personality and voice, and sometimes a certain financial specialty. My goal is to write copy that would make someone stop scrolling. The copy itself should also align with the voice of each advisor. I don't want the copy I write to sound like it could be written by anyone. It comes from the words of real people, so I try to use their words - just better.
Creative Sample Work
Not all the work I've done showcases my range as a copywriter and a creative. Here I have some sample work that might give you a better idea of what I can potentially do for you and your company or brand.
If you click the image to the right, you will be taken to my made-up company, Syrah. A wine bar and subscription service tailored to the sippers and the toasters.
Bios
Ah, the power of the LinkedIn bio.
After Wealthquest hired some new employees, I was tasked with writing their LinkedIn bios.
The key to writing an effective LinkedIn bio is to know the small details of the person. You can't write something that will make a potential client want to work with someone if your writing sounds generic.
Scaled Up taught me how to write someone's bio that yields a personal, accurate, and intriguing finished product. It's time-consuming and requires true communication between the writer and the subject, but it's the only option if you want to walk away with something substantial. And I always do.
